[DHR] Sidewinder: Recoiled Chapter 7 preview...

Yes, it's time again for another chapter preview (yes, another preview). This time Chapter 7 - Combat with a look at Fast Draws and Showdowns. Something I know people are eager to see how we changed it from Wild West Adventures.

I know, another preview and I'm bound to get the question, "Just where the heck is the full product?" Well, we are working diligently to get it finished up. As has been stated before, we are simply "five guys with day jobs." The Dog House Gang is striving to put out the best possible product we can, and we think we are going to get close to that target.

But just so you know, we have set an internal deadline to get this finished. I won't divulge the exact date, but I will tell you that it is before the end of February.

Some of you fine folks have noticed the changes takin' place in the final chapters of Sidewinder: Recoiled.

As knucklehead Spakes explained, we're behind schedule, but we're not far from bringin' in the herd. I reckon I oughtta pass on a little more 'bout the decisions the Dog House Gang made in the last few weeks.

We got to thinkin' on the structure of the previous chapters 8 & 9. Put simple, we realized we were tryin' to squeeze extra goodies where they didn't belong. Kinda like tryin' to add blueberries to an already stuffed apple pie.

So we split up the ingredients and made an extra pie. Instead of 9 chapters, we're makin' it an even 10. That change took a little extra elbow grease, but we got it right near straightened out now. I wouldn't be surprised to see a preview of the new chapter 8 in the next few days. It's all 'bout life on the trail, from movement and terrain to disease and hangin'.

We're mighty thankful for your patience in these final weeks of work on Sidewinder: Recoiled. I'm confident that the finished product will be worth your wait, not to mention your hard-earned silver and gold!

Max, thanks for posting the quick update here for everyone that hasn't visited the Dog House Rules site to see. We are so close right now that I can almost taste it.

Within the next day or so we will be 100% done with the writing and will only have final editing and layout issues to tackle. The long wait is almost over.

We're glad you are excited about Sidewinder: Recoiled. We are as well. As for having room for a gnome, you may need to wait until the Tommy Knocker rules are released in the Crusty Miner supplement.
