DI OS compatibility?

Well the demo is a Windows desktop app. Make of that what you will. The tech does exist to make that 3D dungeon map thing work in a browser, but I just can't see it happening.

Please not Java... I couldn't bear it if it all runs as slow as PCGen. I've never run a Java app that didn't make my modern PC feel like a 286.

Yes. Please. No Java. Not something that slows down my computer to a crawl.

I was under the impression that the DI was web-based. Live and learn, I guess.

My preferrence would be to have applications (chargen, mapping, GM tools) be desktop based, though. As a .NET developer whose entire group uses Windows XP and above, I don't have much concern about being supported. I just hope they don't use Java. Mono is as reliable as the JRE. Since the WotC web pages are aspx, I doubt they'll do their applications in Java.

Yeah, that's why I got to wonder about cross platform capabilities.

Could they go... Silverlight??
If Microsoft keeps its promise of helping Mono project to get full Silverlight compatibility under Linux before next year, I would be o.k.

That's what I'd do, I think. Already works on the Mac (and quite frankly, if Windows and the Mac work, WotC isn't going to worry about anything else), and there's a decent chance the Mono guys will get it to work on Linux.
