One of our regulars players' father is a carpenter, and made him a very nice dice bowl. Since then, a lot of us have acquired something similar - a few commissioned from him, others purchased elsewhere. My own solution was an incredibly cheap chipboard fruitbowl about 7" across, that I bought at a surplus store.

It helps keep peoples' dice contained within their own area, and keeps rolling quick and easy.

We just roll them on the table in our game. Someone normally drops their dice on the floor at least once per session (and any dice on the floor don't count). One players is particularly reknown for dropping his dice on the floor, but that's because he likes to play with his dice, even when we're not in combat.

I like the idea of a dice tower, but I think they're a bit big and bulky.

As a DM, I like all of my players to roll from a 'dice roller/cup' no hand throws and dice need to be thrown into a tray.

Reasons, like the sound of dice rolling around in a cup and got tired of players "dice bowling" my minis and settings!

Now, got a player that want to IPhone app his dice - that just seems wrong to me but then I did allow Dragon Bones at the table.
