Dice Tubes...

Hey... wait a second...

If point buy is the default stat generation method, and fireballs no longer do 1d6 per level...

Will dice tubes start selling tubes with only 1d6 in them now?

THIS GAME IS CHANGING EVERYTHING!!!

Dice sets with only one d6 in them have been available for years, decades even.

Why do think this is a new thing?

Geoff.

Whereas I despise all d10s, no matter what they have printed on them.

Damn non-platonic solids. Grr.

Yes. Remove the d10 and add the d16, I say. The d16 can be used for supreme damage or nerfed attack. -Nerfed attack is nice. Whenever you have a disadvantage in combat you roll the d16 instead of the d20.

I believe that was a suggestion in their old ads in gaming magazines, no less.

I know they have been available.

I'm saying, however, that with point buy being the standard, and no d6/level fireballs, there will be less of a reason for them to make multi d6 dice tubes the standard. Now the default dice tube will be 1d6 and like the 4d6 one will be an optional tube.

Forgive my ignorance but WTF is a 'dice tube' and since when were dice normally sold in these units rather than as sets of seven, or more usually, as individual items?

Chessex usually sells their dice in one of those little square, hard plastic things. Lots of other dice are sold as sets in a long plastic tube. Same sort of tube where you'd find delicious candy-coated chocolates.

I haven't seen dice sold as single pieces for a long time, at least in stores.

Edit: I like the % for weird magic effects. Miss chance is a pain in the butt.

Edit again: I need dice with disturbing non-Euclidean geometry and corners that just don't quite seem *right*.
