Be careful - talk like this lays the way for edition wars. For myself, I'm wondering why call this WFRP 3rd edition? Warhammer 2nd edition is a really good game, and not that old. From a marketing point of view I don't understand why they're not keeping 'proper' WFRP going and making this an entirely new game.
Because it looks fun, I have to say - I'm sure it will be a decent game. But WFRP 2nd edition is an excellent game too, and I can't see too many people converting over from one to the other.
I guess the bottom line is that WFRP 2 didn't make enough money.
Should be easy enough, right? It are really "standard-sided" dice, so you can always assign numbers and symbols as you like. You would probably want to create a table linking number and symbol and then just roll the standard dice.I wonder if it uses a system that can be played without the special dice? Even games like DC Universe or Hercules & Xena, which came with specially marked dice, were just "roll a bunch of D6 and treat 1 as botch, 4 and 5 as success, and 6 as critical" sort of thing.
From the looks of it, you've got d6, d8, and d10s in the box but they have special symbols all over them. Reminds me of HeroQuest with its special combat dice. If I lose one or two, I want to know how to fake it.
Cheers,
