Did these old adventures suck? Nobody talks about them

Most of these modules are also relative late-comers to the party. Back in the day of early 1E AD&D, there were relatively few modules and so most people had some knowledge of or experience with them. By the time these adventures were out, there were tons of alternatives and alternative games to play. So, I think, there was a larger proportion of the gaming public as a whole who had experience with them.

I think that would help explain why there is relatively little discussion about them compared to certain other well known adventures.

id like to see a real Expedition to Undermountain...a big boxed set with maps with numbers on them and more than a handful of rooms described...the recent book was more like Adventure to Undermoutain than Expedition to...

RttToH was brilliant. I've never played it, but I've mined it information and ideas a dozen times over.

Ro7P I have mixed feelings on. The concept had promise, but a lot of its backplot never meshed well with planar prehistory in general. But that I could hand wave away if the rest of it was awesome. That said, I really think I'd feel better about it if the Queen of Chaos hadn't been depicted as a dead ringer for Ursula from Disney's The Little Mermaid, and the Spyder demons need to get a new name, or find themselves a new plane. The Abyss doesn't take well to fugly named fiends.

The elaboration of elements and persons from Ro7P that went on in the AoW AP and in FC:I really rehabilitated a great many of the Ro7P's concepts that irked me initially. Wonderful, wonderful job.

Bingo.

The entire list are all too 'new' for me to have ever played them.
