Wow. Am I in that small company? I am one of those 29. I was so all over that as soon as it came out.

Not that I have any solutions for you other than "make people think like me with your orbital mind control lasers."

I think people are looking for more blanks to fill in in their modern games than their fantasy ones.

Well, I think part of the problem is that it's the old "More I have less I need thing."

Another is "It's PDF. Ugh."

Another is "It's PDF. It's Fantasy. It's not what I'm looking for."

Another is "Man, another PDF out? I havent' had time to integrate the last one."

d20 Modern and d20 Future are indeed the new kids on the block but I wouldn't be surprised if stuff for Grim Tales or Arcana Unearthed did as well as both series have their devoted fans.

Phil, you're amazing. I have to admit, I've never read any of your stuff before. I've never really read much in that way of PDFs, so I wish I could use that as an excuse, but that's not really en excuse. Seeing you had a rpint option put me over the edge. I just ordered a copy from Lulu. Consider this some good karma coming back your way for the prize donation. And, when I have the book, I fully intend to review it.

And, by the way, you're welcome to my ideas, just give me a heads up if you decide to use them.

I've never found that I need less things, my of course disagrees. Personally I find myself saying:

"Ugh, it only in print"
"Ugh, the exchange rate on that print product is going to kill me"
"Ugh, it cost what to ship that printed book"
"Ugh, its pdf but it has the stupid DRM on it"

Thanks for the link Phil. I just got a copy off of Lulu as well. Looks like you're out of the ignominious 20s and into the auspicious 30s.

Server fundraiser done. Let the Phil Reed Demi-planes fundraiser commence! :)

Thanks, guys! This carpal tunnel has had me feeling down so the support is doing my attitude good.

I guess there's been enough threadjacking that I don't feel so bad about saying this. My girlfriend has a bad case of bursitis and osteo-arthritis in her shoulder. The blue-emu stuff acts as advertised. It's cheap enough that you might want to give it a try.

Not sure if mentioned, but....

A bunch of random encounters.

Chapters based on Local (Dungeon, Wilderness, City, etc....) Ordered by CR's within Chapters. I would love a book/PDF like this. That would save me much time when trying to wing some stuff cause the adventurers did somthing un-expected and didn't take the job(prepared Adventure) I had worked so hard on.

With all the monsters/npcs, treasure, CRs, and descriptions (ie You are trudging through a thick part of the forest, thinking to yourself. When you break into a clearing and there sits 5 ogres around a campfire. They seem to be cooking somthing or someone.....), detailed. I have started to group my encounters like this so I can flip to pages and go.

Maybe as a group we could come up with somthing like this....:)

Heh, you not only have persmission to use my one suggestion, you also have an assured purchase...

And I'm sorry to hear about your health problem, get well quick :uhoh:

A dozen...
...Merchant Houses
...monestaries and dojos
...politcal parties (for medieval fantasy cities/countries)
..."majors" or fields of study, and the profs that teach them, from a (medieval fantasy) university
...shops along the waterfront
...ancient societies [for a modern setting]
...vigilanties (NPCs with backstories and stats)
...Civil Offices and Officials (for medieval fantasy cities)
...Collectable Collections (groups or sets of items that NPCs or PCs can seek out, just to have. For example, IMC there are several sets of books, or sculptures by a long dead artist, or snippets of songs and poetry from ancient masters that wealthy NPCs would, and have, killed for.)

Any of these you are of course free to use :)
