difference btw preface, intro, foreword?

According to my dictionary, a foreword is a preface.
A preface is an introduction to a book.
An introduction is "an explanatory or commenting section of a book, preceeding the text proper and often by someone other than the book's author".

So if I have a whimsical semi-fictional story by Brom about drawing as a kid, a page by Ernie Gygax about growing up and gaming, and the background story behind how the Kids Book came about, which should be which?

I'm leaning towards EG having the introduction, the Brom be the foreword, and my comments be the preface.

Then the next question is, in what order do they belong?

Aaaaargh!

In an effort to improve the abysmal state of education in the US we're implementing a strategy whereby commonly misused or misspelled words will be replaced with corporate brand names. Please replace all instances of "foreword" (or "forward" used as foreword) with "Phillip-Morris". We feel the added benefit of brand recognition will eliminate confusion regarding which words to use and inject some much needed funding into our K-12 system.

I confess, I originally typed in forewArd, but quickly made the correction. It makes me giggle to see the spelling mistakes some people make, especially those of our fantastic editor!

I've decided that I'm going to use the Queen's English for spelling standard in the Kids ColoUring Book, although I'm trying to decide what to do about submissions by American contributors.

Should I edit their entries for consistency sake? Or leave them as is, with a little note explaining the discrepancey somewhere?

Argh, so many issues with which to deal!

That seems to be an international issue...what to do with the Americans.

But seriously, if you want to follow the Queen's English, then, for consistency's sake, you should probably edit the perfectly spelled Ameican English words with your imperfectly spelled Queen's English words. But seriously, keep with one standard of spelling, whatever it may be.

Please note, I am kidding on the perfection issue.
