I started this thread to get some general info on mythical creatures and wanted to know if poeple would like to play in game where most mythical, bings fantasy and horror creatures had a very different explanation in orgin and history? Instead of being undead creatures or forest/ elmental spirits but saying they are otherworldly from a deminsion.

IMC, orcs are spirits of Hatred: demons made flesh. They spawn in the depths of the Underworld, which seethes with the constant war they make on each other. The survivors find their way to the deepest reaches of the great dungeons, where their warlords organise them into armies. From there, they emerge into the surface world to plunder, pillage and destroy.

This means:

1. An orc is an agent of destruction, a supernatural being, and not a creature of the natural world.

2. There are no female orcs, and no orc babies. You are Allowed to Smite.

In the Middle World, Aberrations are linked to the Elder Gods, undead to the Hells, fey to the Faerie Lords, etc. This is sort of similar. Aberrations can cause sanity checks, for instance, ala UA or CoC d20. Powerful fey may have Divine Rank 0 abilities. There are no Negative or Positive Material planes. There is, however, a transitive Plane of Shadows that is used as a conduit for infernal power....and the power of the Elder Gods in the Far Pit.... :uhoh:
