Dimension Dooring a grappled ally

By the RAW I don't see why you couldn't dimension door a grappled ally. If I were the DM I would make the wizard hit the PC with a touch attack first (if he misses, or hits the enemy, the spell fails).

Would there be no way for the enemy to prevent it? Consider the grappled ally as an "attended object", and thus subject to a Will save? (I'm grasping, here.)

Well, if you are the DM, you can pretty much make the rules yourself. I can see someone ruling that way, or perhaps having the spell take the grappler along too (assuming the grappler chooses to fail their will save, or even knows what the spell is).

Since you can join a grapple without making the melee touch attack, I'd just let the wizard automatically succeed, but a melee touch attack would not be out of order (remember that the target doesn't get it's Dex bonus to AC while grappling).

This is pretty much a standard tactic in the two campaigns I play in, though it's been much more expensive since we were forced to use teleports to save PCs about to be swallowed by Huge monsters.

See if your DM will let you get away with this: have your flying familiar deliver the touch spell and keep your wizard out of harm's way.

We allowed it. It saved the parties bacon when they were entrapped by evards black tentacles and then engulfed in cloudkill which was hedged in and wasn't going anywhere else. The wizard got himself and three key buddies out, and they would have died otherwise.

Sure works - same as using "Gaseous Form" on the poor sod, helping him via "Enlarge" or "Freedom of Movement" or even "Polymorph" (ever tried to grapple a black pudding ? Yucky...) on him. Lots of possibilities in that....

Precisely.
