Kallithyia: Palmaid/Female (Amazon)

RA: [sblock]Kalli looks upon the man in disgust as she switches over to Conasan, her own true native language, “my people do not kill themselves, nor do we give up, which is why I fight in the arena instead of ending my misery.”

OOC: Note: change in languages.

Kalli:

*He replies in Seelie.*

"That is truly a stronger way to look at the world, and I applaud it. Why, then, did you ask me to kill you? To do so at your request is nothing more than assisted suicide, you know?"
[/SBLOCK]

Kallithyia: Palmaid/Female (Amazon)

RA: [sblock]* As surprised as Kalli was regarding his impassive response to being spit on she was even more surprised by his understanding of her native dialect but with surprise comes suspicion and her eyes narrowed… *

“You understand my native tongue but you speak to me in Seelie?” she sneered in her confusion, his own question forgotten for now as she continued to address him in Conasan, “Why?” [/sblock]

Kalli:

"Oh, that?" Catullus winks as he says, "You are very perceptive, Kallithyia. Well, Comprehend Languages isn't quite as good of a magic spell as Tongues, unfortunately. That will just be our little secret, though, okay?"
[/SBLOCK]

Kallithyia: Palmaid/Female (Amazon)

RA: [sblock]“So you only truly speak Seelie,” Kallithyia said with more than a touch of bitterness as she stared at a nearby wall, “so you don’t truly understand me.” [/sblock]

Kalli:
[SBLOCK]
"Well, I do understand you. And I've been trying to teach myself Conacan, but I don't know it very well. I could understand the gist of what you were saying without the spell, and I could try to talk to you in Conacan, but you would just laugh at me...I'm very bad at it right now. I know Seelie already because I have a Sister who is a Nymph, and that's the language she spoke."

Kallithyia: Palmaid/Female (Amazon)

[sblock]“Your sister and I are not the same,” Kallithyia said in a matter-of-fact tone, “we are from different societies, mine does not frolic, mine is warlike, and we do not bed down with men for pleasure.”

“As for assisted suicide,” her eyes pleading with his own to honor her wishes, “I can only hope to die, I cannot sit here and tilt my neck back for you no matter how I wish to, but I’m bond, so surely you could kill me…” [/sblock]

"I understand the differences, Kallithyia. When I heard of the atrocities performed upon you, I studied what I could of your culture, and I respect it for its differences from that of my sister...Though I never bedded down with her, nor shall I ask it of you, you may believe my words. I have a fiancee to whom I shall always be faithful."

"As I said before, I cannot kill you here and now because I would be caught doing so, but I vow that I will see you free. Once I have freed you, if you still wish to die, then I will do it, but I urge you to be strong and live, as is the noble way of your people..."

RA: [sblock]“The noble way of my people?” Kallithyia screamed in outrage as she flung herself towards Catullus bent on killing him but the chains held, as the always do, and she stopped with a crashing jolt that could be described as agonizingly painful.

“If you studied my people at all you know that I’m an empty shell now! I’ve been forced violated not just by a man but by hundreds, maybe even a thousand! One alone was enough, we don’t even have words for how unnoble I am!” [/sblock]

*Catullus doesn't even flinch when Kalli flings herself towards him.*

"Hundreds? It couldn't have been that many. I found out that the only reason they did such horrible things in the arena is because somebody somewhere lied and claimed you were war criminals, but it is still illegal for them to violate you like that. There couldn't have been that many that were willing and able to sneak past the law on that one--I'd be surprised if there were even ten, though I can understand that when something that awful happens, ten can seem like hundreds...I said it was an atrocity, and not just for the actions perpetrated but because I know how they are viewed by your people. That is another reason why it would be wrong to just slit your throat here--it is such an ignoble death, and you deserve to have some of your dignity restored...what has been done to you is the fault of evil people and none of your own. If I was going to help you die today, I would first heal you, arm you, and free you, at which point you would likely attack me. If you died on my blade fighting honourably to save yourself, dying in battle like a true warrior, that would be a more honourable death, I think."
