Dire Scimitar? What is it?

I rolled up a +2 Dire Scimitar from Jamis Buck's treasure generator. I have no clue what the Dire special ability for a weapon is or where to find it. Can anybody tell me what it is, what the cost/+ modification is, and where it can be found? Thanks!

I would expect it to be a two-bladed scimitar, much like a two-bladed sword except it does 1d6 damage and 18-20/x2 crit.

Either that or it's a giant scimitar, much like the ones that existed in prehistoric times.

That would make sense, double sided like the "dire flail" in PHB.

Large scimitar?

Well ... all kinds of sabres and curved blades are either scimitar or falchion in 3rd edition.

Though some are longswords or bastard swords (katana)
