Disarm/Sunder spell components?

Globe of Invulnerability: 100%
Spell Immunity: 100% (depending on how your DM rules both immunity, and a 4th level spell effect instigated by an 8th level spell)
They are already confused, so the above doesn't help. In either case, however, it's a 7th-level effect, not 8th-level. It's word of chaos, not cloak of chaos.

I forgot that Word of Chaos is Instantaneous, hence, it is not a spell effect at all. It is a condition and only subject to healing type spells.

So, even Antimagic Field, Dispel Magic, or Dispel Chaos would not help. The Confusion effect is not a spell effect. It is a condition of the PC.

Gotta remember that spell for when my PCs get higher level. ;)

1. Disarm the spell component pouch?
The pouch is likly well secured
2. Sunder the spell component pouch?
Best option. If they are a free action to get at, damn right the pouch is in the open.
Unless the player has previously stated they were hidden with the rules presented under slight of hand, thus making the components a move or standard action to draw out.

3. Ready an action to attack and hopefully force a concentration check to disrupt casting?
Hard to do.
4. Ready an action to disarm the spell components themselves?
Should work. Just be firm and thus fair the caster of a spell gets the "free retrieval of components" once per spell and appliy that to all casters.

Thanks everyone. Based on the advice from this thread, I've elected to Ready an action to Sunder the spell component pouch when the sorceror goes to cast. The sorceror took a 5ft step and began to cast, which triggered the ready action, and the subsequent destruction of the pouch. The DM has ruled that this has disrupted the casting as he was not able to retrieve the required components. With the remaining move action, the sorceror sought to retrieve his emergency spell component pouch, which triggered an AOO.

Another idea would have been to light his components on fire or use a vial of acid or other corrosive material to destroy the components or at least have him take a round to put out the fire.

Wicked idea Meeki, and if the pyromaniac wizard in our group was in play (and not skulking around a corner after getting knocked unconscious twice) then I'm sure he'd be in for it.

As for my character, well let's just say that wpn focus/specialisation (longsword), melee weapon mastery (slashing) and wielding a +3 keen flaming longsword with (currently buffed) 26 Strength, it seemed to make more sense to use the sword. :D

The problem with non-standard actions is that they require that the PC retrieve items to accomplish these types of goals, have at least one hand free, have a DM receptive to on the fly DCs and rulings, etc.

Personally, I think it takes a lot less time to swing a sword in hand at a spell component pouch than it does to pull out a vial of acid, open it, throw it perfectly, etc. JMO.

Combine it with a bead of karma, death knell, that ioun stone, an the chaos domain. That's why some people houserule the 'word of' spells.
