[RL Intrudes]

Hi all, I've already emailed the other judges about this but I feel it belongs here too. I've recently hit a rather tight spot with time commitments and need to pull back on some of my online gaming. Its a good thing, a promotion at work, and I'm not leaving completely. I just need to cut back on some obligations. Judging LEW is one of those commitments. I'll be continuing to judge Manzanita and Patlin's adventures until their conclusions but other than that I'll be tossing in the towel. I've had a great time with LEW and I'm quite proud that we've been able to grow such a great Living community.

I'm not going far, you may still see Tenebrynn and Eternity around in adventures here and there and I'm still running my Gemhold game.

The last piece of admin work for my retirement as judge lies in the DM reward for L1 that I recently concluded. I took over from LiquidBlue Jan. 29th as DM. I believe that is 8 DM credits for me, sound fair?

If nobody objects to me immediately becoming the substitute judge (since a DM should never be making that award to himself), then yes, that is correct. I just posted in the adventure thread to that effect.

I have a question:

Regarding the Job System: My current character, Elthic, just had his weapon broken over in The Darque Demesne. He has already spoken to Tarag about getting a new weapon made up for him.

Do I have to wait until BOTH characters are not adventuring before I can get a weapon made up? Cuz, that would seem kind of lame...

Is that mid-adventure, with Tarag having a chance to reach his workshop, then? If so, I believe the GM can allow Tarag to craft the weapon per the normal rules (without craft points) or maybe (I'm not sure if that was changed) with craft points if he prefers. Maybe the judges can confirm?

Well, if Tarag is busy, say... fighting elementals in a wizard's tower a day's travel from Orussus... then yes, you have to wait. If, for some reason, he were in an adventure in Orussus and there was a day of down time, and the DM okayed it, then yes, I suppose he could return to his shop. But as it is, I don't think Tarag will be able to tear himself away from Thyrin's haywire elemental security system to make Elthic's sword. Sorry! :D

EDIT: That's not to say that if Tarag has an apprentice shopkeeper, Elthic can't go get his weapon repaired at Tarag's shop. Tarag just can't do the repairs himself, because he's doing something else.

Hmm, Tarag certainly has an NPC running the shop while he's away. Does that qualify as having an apprentice?
