(Discussion) General Part II

Just so folks here know, Creamsteak is ill. This is likely to slow down Judge-type stuff (like updating the Guide/Atlas) until he's feeling better.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please direct them to myself, Uriel, or Macbeth. If Creamsteak was Judging one of your games, let me know here (please provide a link as well!) so I can take over supervising it until he's back.

Thanks!

Hey, gary - when you're not busy, could you look at my feat a couple of pages back? CS said he wanted other judges' inputs, and so far Macbeth has said that he likes it as it sits... so I'd appreciate it if another judge took a look. :)

I glanced at it before, but I'll take a closer look this evening and let you know what I think.

Ack...CS ill, me layed up with a compound of foot problems too rediculously numerous to list and garyh crazy, er, I mean...Macbeth, it's all on you now! :O
Time for another ice pack, woohoo!

Also, could someone make a decision as to whether or not my feat is acceptable? Now that things have started cooling down, I think that we could start introducing small elements of new things... such as feats. ;)

Delmontes Technique: Piercing Whip [General]
You are so skilled in using a whip, that you can find chinks in almost any armor and strike there with enough force to deal damage.
Prerequisites: Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Whip), Weapon Finesse.
Benefit: When using a whip, you can deal damage to opponents regardless of their armor or natural armor.
Normal: Without this feat, you can't deal damage with a whip to opponents with an armor bonus of +1 or higher or a natural armor bonus of +3 or higher.

Here's an idea... you say "most armor" in the description... let's expand on that.

Perhaps this feat could go a little like this:

Delmontes Technique: Piercing Whip [General]
You are so skilled in using a whip, that you can find chinks in almost any armor and strike there with enough force to deal damage.
Prerequisites: Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Whip), Weapon Finesse.
Benefit: When using a whip, you can deal damage to opponents with up to +4 armor or +6 natural armor. Your damage with a whip is increased to 1d4.
Normal: Without this feat, you can't deal damage with a whip to opponents with an armor bonus of +1 or higher or a natural armor bonus of +3 or higher.

Followed by...

Delmontes Technique: Advanced Piercing Whip [General]
You are so skilled in using a whip, that you can find chinks in any armor and strike there with enough force to deal damage.
Prerequisites: BAB +4, Delmonte's Technique: Piercing Whip, Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Whip), Weapon Finesse.
Benefit: When using a whip, you can deal damage to opponents regardless of their armor or natural armor. Your damage with a whip is increased to 1d6.
Normal: Without this feat, you can't deal damage with a whip to opponents with an armor bonus of +1 or higher or a natural armor bonus of +3 or higher.

Makes it feel a little more like a seperate, distinct, improvable technique.

That's my approach anyway. Thoughts?

I like GaryH's variant.

By the way, I'm not sick anymore, but I will be less active for at least this week so that I feel less occupied all the time (being on the boards any free half hour is an example of how I'm too occupied right now).

Actually, CS just posted that things are working out for him, and that he may be getting into a better situation soon. As for the fact that Judges seem to droping like flies... I'm sure glad that Garyh is still doing fine, and I hope that Uriel and CS are back with us soon.

I like this even more, really adds some flavor. As I've said before, I really like the whip for flavore, and these feats bring the mechanic side up to par. I would approve either this or the original, but I prefer Gary's revised version.
