Dispel magic

I would like to clear something out

Here an exemple

A level 9 cleric cast dispel magic on a 30' radius that include 3 creature

1st- Boosted with bull'S strenght and Greater magic weapon.

2nd- Boosted with Righteous magic

3th- Boost with Mage Armor, Shield, and blink

It say that you have to make a check for each spell until he dispel something or all check suceed. And start with the higher spell.

But do each creature do there check alone (allowing up to 3 spell being dispel) or whenever a spell is dispel all the other remain???

If you ask i fell that dispel magic is one of the worst spell to understand!!!:(

If you are casting an area dispel, then only one spell per creature can be dispelled. At this point, you would move on to the next creature. If you want to dispel everything on one creature, try a targeted dispel.

Now I am confused :(

If you use a erea dispel only one enchantment will be dispelled but does that mean that you roll a save voor each spell on a person until one gets dispelled??

The spell affects every character and object in the area of effect.

Each character or object can have 1 effect removed from it.

So in the example, if everyone failed their save, this would be left:

1st) Bull's Strength
2nd) nothing
3rd) Mage Armor, Shield

Likewise, if there are 3 chests in the room and each has a Glyph of Warding on it, a single dispell magic on the whole room could (if they all failed) remove all 3 glyphs. But if one of those chests had 2 protective magics on it, then it would only remove the higher one (if it failed) and 1 from each other chest.

Therefore, casting an empowered Nystul's Magic Aura (sp?) on yourself, protects your Mage Armor from being dispelled with only a single area dispell. And if you have one cast on your hair and your arm and your left foot, etc... they'll never get rid of your mage armor. :) That is, if your DM lets you cast the spell like that...

Empower doesn't raise the spell level.

On the other hand, a Mass Darkvision does a pretty good job of protecting other enhancers. Same for Mass Endure Elements. Heighten Feat on a different spell would also be effective.

Yes. If a person in the area has a 3rd level spell, a 2nd level spell, and two first level spells running, then the area dispel will get, at most, one of them.

You save for the highest level spell first. If it fails, it's dispelled. If it saves, you check the next - the 2nd level spell. And so on, until either all the spells have saved, or one has failed.
