I don't know the facts here, but my first reaction when reading the article was "He had a sword, and the cops had guns. Couldn't they have "shot and wounded" him? Shot and incapacitated him? Instead was "shot and killed". I only mention this because in our neck of the woods recently, there was also a dangerous lunatic swinging a sword around. He was brought down without a shot being fired.
Was this guy really so out of control that they couldn't do that? Maybe he was, and if that is the case, fine. but it makes me sad that that some less lethal way wasn't found. Yes, I acknowledge that it is very sad that he killed three people. It's just a shame that the tragedy was compounded.

Three people with mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, sons, daughters, and friends. All of whom have just had a loved one ripped away from them suddenly and violently. I feel NO remorse WHATSOEVER for this guy. .... I don't blame those police officers for using lethal force. I don't care who you are, if you see someone moving towards you holding a katana dripping in human blood, you shoot to kill.
