Divine Favor Bonus

Divine Favor always messes with me. The spell text from the SRD reads:

"Calling upon the strength and wisdom of a deity, you gain a +1 luck bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls for every three caster levels you have (at least +1, maximum +3). The bonus doesn’t apply to spell damage."

So does the progression work like this?

Levels 1 - 5: +1 luck bonus
Levels 6 - 8: +2 luck bonus
Levels 9 - 20: +3 luck bonus

yes, except:
1. Your Caster level may be higher or lower than your class lvl. Don't confuse the two.
2. Your Caster level may, at some point, become higher than 20. The bonus, however will still be no higher than +3.

Actually I think the progression is:
Caster Levels 1 - 3: +1 luck bonus
Caster Levels 4 - 6: +2 luck bonus
Caster Levels 7+: +3 luck bonus

Yes, I read the bolded and underlined section and then I read my PHB. Every thing seems right to me except that. I never saw that errata in 3rd or 3.5, but I know that is right in Pathfinder.

The PHB errata is here if you're interested in finding out whether Divine Favor was changed or not.

The SRD could have it wrong, but I don't really care about this enough to investigate.
