Heh. I would have just had a dragon take them down. ;)

And that would have taught them nothing. Sometimes, you have to smack PCs with highly organized enemies weaker than they are, in order to drive home a point.

Ppphht. Fine. I'll remember that when I send out swarms of Chern's children.

Exactly. By the time they were midway through the fight players were saying OOC, "Somebody please kill one of them! This is embarrassing!" Getting beat up by a dragon wouldn't have had the same effect. Near the end of the fight, the PCs who were still on their feet were backing each other up, double-teaming on an opponent, trying to protect companions who were in most danger, etc. It was a little too late to change the outcome of this particlar battle, considering the damage they'd already taken, but it was a nice change for a group which usually fights as six un-coordinated individuals, and hopefully will carry through to future combats and keep them alive longer. I'm all about the tough love ;)

Eh. This is just tough love lite. You want real tough love, werewolves and Moon daemon runing among along with Slitheren and were-rats. Now THAT'S tough fighting! ;) And I can do it outdoorsy too! :D
