Getting lost in fantasy maps
According to the DMGII preview this month, it appears that some of the DMG II isn't new material. Instead rather some has already appeared in other products.
The preview this month is on restricted spaces, however these rules have already appeared in the FR accessory Underdark, as I remember, almost exactly as they are presented in the preview.
As I said, this isn't a bad thing at all. It makes me wonder what else that has been published elsewhere by WotC will be brought into the DMG II. IMO, some of the environment rules that are appearing in the WotC environment books would have been nice to bring into this but I fully understand milking those ideas into full fledged books on their own.
But I appreciate that WotC is consolidating (some) optional rules from far flung accessories into a single new book.

Eric Anondson
