DND Minis- Aberrations

Hey, if you're a crack addict, and you're tired of buying your stash, it doesn't mean he's not buying... :D

I had no plans to get sucked into D&D minis, but I turned out buying a pack a week for a while anyway, to the point where I just upgraded my storage needs and I'm still running out of space... :(

As for the news, that does suck mightily. Fortunately, I'm not buying by the case; however, as I'm buying by the pack, when the pack price for the small packs jumps to 12.95, I'm seriously going to have to think about it... USD $10.00 is the ceiling for an impulse buy for me.

The price already jumped Henry. They repriced all the existing Archfiends to 12.95. Although you can get single boosters for under 8 at gameoutfitter.

For completionists. They suddenly have to buy that many more cases to get they minis they want. The net result is that a good portion of the minis buyers will shell out more money.
I can only guess it's because you only want complete cases, because of the distribution? And you did not happen to buy 3 cases (or a multiple of 3) before, so you would be forced to either buy a couple seperate boosters now or half a case more or less.

So don't buy them.

My local store must have some backstock, then - I'm still buying them, and some dragoneyes, at $9.95 each.

Hmmm... guess I'll have to find another destination for my money. :) Fortunately, I've got about 200 stocked away now, and the majority of my minis needs are in that existing pile, so no worries. If I do keep picking 'em up, it'll be one every other week, I could justify that way.

I try to buy upfront, then trade on maxminis for any others that I want. I rarely try to have them all, but I enjoy getting ones that will be useful.

I would just like to back you up and say I don't understand how this changes anything for players/collectors. Stores, yeah...

There was a place near where I live that sold both Archfiends and DragonsEye for $7 each and GoL for $13 each. I know that they are out of GoL but they have a nice stock left of Archfiends and Dragoneye. Not sure if the price jump affected them or not though...

I don't see how. If you ordered 2 cases expecting 16 boosters in a case, they'll send you 2 full cases of 12, plus 8 seperate boosters. Cost will not have changed - you paid for 32 boosters worth, they'll send 32 boosters worth. It just won't fit in full cases. Shipping cost will not have changed either as shipping is generally done by weight and volume - which is unchanged. Worst you could expect is a slight additional charge for the carrier handling 3 cases (2 full, one partially full) instead of only 2. Nope. Really don't see a problem.

I'm glad they changed it. My FLGS gives me a nice discount on cases so I always get one and then buy individual boxes at a not as nice discount to complete the set. So far it has always taken me 24 boxes plus trades to complete each set. Now I can get my 24 boxes at a discount rate. I couldn't be happier.
