As the header asks: do chaotic gawds have paladins to act on their behalf?
I ask because the lawful requirement for the paladin class sort of gets in the way.
As a general rule, no a choatic god wouldn't have a "true" LG paladin. However, you could allow a player to take one of the alternate holy warrior classes from Dragon Magazine #310. The article is called Champions of the Divine and gives rules for alternate paladin-like classes for other alignments.
A Sentinel is a neutral good holy warrior who can smite evil but has several different class abilities that make it different, yet similar to a paladin: Aura of Good, Dectect Evil, Resist Fiendish Lure, Celestial Fortitude, Turn Outsider, Celestial Minion, Dispel Evil, and Code of Conduct.
An Avenger is a chaotic good holy warrior who can smite law and has the following abilities: Aura of Chaos, Detect Law, Lay on Hands, Slippery mind, Turn undead, Animal Minion, Break Enchantment, and Code of Conduct.
The article also details the Enforcer (LN), Incarnate (N), and Anarch (CN).
Cheers!
