To use the Hide skill once must hide behind something or in shadows. You can't "hide in plain sight" without that ability from a PrC and there are no shadows to someone using Darkvision.
You do realize that we're talking about 3rd Edition, right? It isn't called Hide in Shadows anymore. Meaning, you don't need shadows anymore. You can hide behind a broom if you're good enough.
