DON'T try to introduce them to your greataxe.
 

DO Compiment the king/wizard/dragon on their appearance/hoard/castle.

DON'T follow it up with "For me to poop on."

DO Cast fireball.

DON'T In an ice cave.

DO Take an exotic weapon.

DON'T take a spoon.

DO Get a vorpal weapon.

DON'T juggle with it.

DO search out artifacts.

DON'T go looking for the head of Vecna.

DO Hit the succubus.

DON'T hit On the succubus.
 


DO cast burning hands

DON'T cast burning hands while admiring a bathing Nymph. (My appologies to anyone's three year old child/grandmother/pet nun.)
 

DO treat evil demons, dragons and necromancers with respect.
DON'T send them complimentary wedding invitations.

DON'T lose track of when the time for buffing has ended and the time for combat has begun.


DO make use of magic.

DON'T come to rely on magic -- especially if your opponent has access to dispel or disjunction.
