Do halflings keep their +1 to saves when Polymorphed?

Please let me know if I have this right:

Halflings lose their +1 to all saves when Polymorphed (unless they polymorph into a halfling, of course) because it is a racial bonus, but they keep their +2 against fear because that's a morale bonus. They lose racial bonuses because when you Polymorph your "creature type and subtype (if any) change to match the new form."

This seems strange to me, but I think that's the way it is since the +1 to saves is a racial bonus and not a luck bonus.

Anyone care to comment?

I don't know for sure, but I'd let the Halflings keep their saving throw bonus.

I mean, sure, they're polymorphed, but they're still halflings. They're still luckier than humans, or any other race.

I don't know... it's a racial bonus, and you've just changed the halfling's race to something else.

For purely mental or purely physical things, it's obvious, but for those odd "not really quantifiable in the real world" abilities, I don't know. I guess you have to depend on the description, which in this case says it's luck, and that's not really tied to their body in any way, so I'd let them keep it.

But it's not a luck bonus, which was my point. I think maybe it should be a luck bonus since it doesn't really seem to be based on anatomy, but they were clear on calling the +2 bonus vs. fear a morale bonus and the +1 to everything a racial bonus, so I think it's fairly cut and dry.

Any bonus that is tied to race is lost when you actually change the type that your character is.

You cannot take the good from your new "race" while also keeping the good from your old "race"

Int Wis and Cha are mental qualities.

From what I can tell, you keep your mental and extraordinary/supranatural qualities, but lose/change your racial qualities.

The subject’s creature type and subtype (if any) change to match the new form...

The subject gains the Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores of the new form but retains its own Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. It also gains all extraordinary special attacks possessed by the form but does not gain the extraordinary special qualities possessed by the new form or any supernatural or spell-like abilities.

When polymorphing, you lose all Extraordinary abilities except those that stem from class levels. (The text is in the description of alter self, on which polymorph is based.)

I think racial abilities count as Extraordinary, which means they'll be lost when you polymorph. I might be wrong about that though.
