Do magic missiles glow?

I definitely prefer a DM that allows her players to arbitrarily describe the visualization of their magical effects as it allots for more personalized and contradistinctive characters.

Trudat.

That's why you need Spellcraft to identify even a spell you know. :)

A friend of mine plays a half-orc sorcerer in Living Arcanis.

When he casts magic missile, he says, "You catch glowy ball!"

(Sleep is accompanied by, "You fall down now!")

My mental image of magic missile is shaped by a Jeff Dee illustration in the old 1E "Rogue's Gallery" supplement, with a female magic-user hitting kobolds with a "glowy ball", much to the amusement of the knight and bard standing next to her:

Considering that most force effects are invisible, maybe MMs are as well. You just see a lightning-fast ripple in the air and the target's wounds.

This is very close to my visualization. I have always seen it behave like the PPG of Babylon 5. (those pistols with their air-warping effect)
