I wouldn't trust the pictures. Artistic depictions of exotic animals are often inaccurate.

I'm pretty sure none of those artist who drew those pictures have ever seen an owlbear.

serrations on a beak are not teeth you can collect off a dead owlbear
OP refers to Tomia too - which is hardened cartilage and can be separated from a bird (or owlbear)'s beak. Its not easy but it can be done by a skilled taxidermist. What it would be used for I have no idea - fried duck beak is eaten in parts of Thailand
