Do temporary hit points stack ?

There's a distinct disadvantage between stacking healing spells and stacking temporary hit points (especially from the same source).

*remembering some 600 or so hit points sorcerer with Vampiric Touch in Neverwinter Nights*

I think somewhere it says that the temp hp from energy drain last an hour.

It's in the description of Energy Drain: "These temporary hit points last for a maximum of 1 hour."
