D&D General Do THIS, WotC!

How about Twee Sun - a satire of both Dark Sun's grim and gritty vibe, and the rise of tweeness in D&D. If done correctly, it would make fun of both in a largely loving way.

(I don't really want this, but it is a funny thought).

uses skills in place of most other character abilities so that any action is a skill check. Weapon groups and spell schools are skills, etc.
Not to go too far off-topic...but thwt us essentially what the upcoming Plotweaver system from Brotherwise Games is doing, starting with the Stormlight Archives RPG (with Mistborn and generic Fantasy versions in the pipeline): basically takes the 5E Skill system and it's math, and makes everything in the game work that way, Spells and weapons included.

I just want a big-book of all 5th edition character options and spells, with Tasha's optional class features integrated, so I could have everything handy in print for a given character without lugging 2-5 books to each session, with a few original 2014 PHB things updated to later standards (eg: the Magic Initiate feat). Ideally it would be sold as a binder with room for more pages as new stuff was released.

Instead we got 5.5, a semi-random remix rushed for an anniversary that changed enough to make people like me who were basically satisfied with 5th edition rules unhappy without actually pleasing the people who wanted a new edition, and all those old character options are in a nebulous place of being sort of still current.

A setting built with the assumptions of 5e at its foundation (Radiant Citadel is close, but doesn't lean into it)

New, modern, hero to super-hero journeys from its origins as opposed to most of the old settings starting with zero.

Maybe, immediately before the setting's present day, the residents -- including the PCs, etc. -- fought off an invasion by an otherworldly invading force, shutting the door behind them. You get a landscape full of ruined fortresses teleported in by the invaders, full of monsters, treasures, etc., a fragile status quo for civilization, the looming threat that the bad guys could find a way back in, and PCs that have had some off-stage experience before play begins, so there's no question that these are folks who can kick ass and take names.
