Do Warforged Dream of Mithral Sheep?

I might have posted this already, but just in case I haven't...

The original idea in the first two paragraphs is from a rec.games.frp.dnd post by Chup@Cabra. The rest is mine. I'm presenting it as a single text because it flows reasonably well together.

So, in my campaign, I am thinking about having the 'subset' of warforged called the 'psiforged' (Magic of Eberron, pg. 25-26, 39) having a more feminine form. These 'she-forged' are also the primary proponents of the Reforged belief system (Races of Eberron, pg 161). They now travel the main continent of Khorvair, their mission being to first find other warforged who have a female mindset and offering to reconstruct them to a feminine outward form, and secondly to promote the Reforged philosophy (and of course the prestiege class).

They also have a secret third mission, to make the warforged a true self-reproducing race. After a 'forged has taken the third level of the Reforged prestiege class, the she-forged have developed a special psionic process that will grant the individual the ability to reproduce sexually, thus making the creation forges needless.

The she-forged are Merrix's creation, with genuinely benign motives, at least towards the warforged.

The she-forged wander Eberron, preaching their Reforged philosophy, reshaping other female personality warforged, and slowly building up resentment among all the people who don't much like constructs even as they are, much less with girl-constructs at their sides.

The PCs somehow get caught in helping the she-forged and Merrix. It depends on their interests, but a Cannith South character might be one Merrix's apprentices, a warforged might be attracted to the she-forged's philosophy (or one to a specific she-forged!), Cyrans might feel some kinship due to also being cast adrift, any Good character might stand up to the persecution the she-forged are bound to face when it becomes apparent what they're doing, if not sooner...

As the PCs help the 'forged trying to find their place in the world, they find out the real secrets behind Merrix's psiforging process: he had help from Riedra (probably without even being aware of it!), and the psiforged being used like mobile mini-versions of the Riedran monoliths, draining psionic power from the people and locking them into thought patterns that will keep the age from turning and ensure their continued dominance.

Mid- or high-level PC might concievably find some way to frustrate the Inspired's efforts, perhaps by discovering a way to alter the psiforged so they don't function as the Inspired intended anymore (if there's an artificer) or short-circuiting the process psionically (if there are psionic characters) or trying to relocate them to some remote part of Khorvaire, at least until a better solution is found...

So the Inspired turn to force as a last resort, sending out the army of psiforged they've been helping build in the other remaining forge in Khorvaire: that of the Lord of Blades in the Mournland.

The Lord's psiforged armies march out on Khorvaire supported by Inspired shock troops, and the PCs and their psiforged friends march to meet them, side by side with both their supporters and oppressors from the Five Nations.

As the PCs and their closest allies battle the Lord himself and the Inspired pupeteers behind him, the psiforged discover they have some limited control over the mists of Mournland, and are sometimes even able to disperse small areas for good (preferably, one of the PCs is the psiforged to make the discovery). The Mourning was an early psiforging experiment gone terribly awry, so the psionic resonance of the psiforged can, with proper control, clear away the deadly residue, so that when the Lord of Blades and his Inspired overlords are defeated, the campaign wraps up with the PCs being hailed as heroes by the whole of Khorvaire, but most of all the psiforged and the surviving Cyrans going off to rebuild Cyre together.

(And in Dal Quor, the Dreaming Dark dreams... of revenge.)
