Do you enforce "the call of nature"?

In one game, that DM set up an ambush for us at the inn, he rolled randomly to see whitch one of us "got caught with pants down" as it were and was in the outhouse. Turns out it was me. I was playing a dwarf fighter with a CON of 20, I told DM dwarves with that high a CON don't need to go the bathroom, LOL.

No one ever uses the bathroom in my games. Occasionally, someone goes to have a bath in a bathhouse (for flavor text) (rarely do we have the luxury of a private bath). But as far as toilets and smells associated with them, we don't go there...

One of my favorite Hirst Arts creations I've seen was a castle that was complete with garderobe; thought it was a very thoughtful touch.

One somewhat disturbing thing I noticed while running a Deadlands campaign is that when given the opportunity PCs will always, and with great glee, blow up outhouses.

Admittedly that may just be a case of "weird players + TNT"..but the ramifications are still somewhat disturbing. ;)

Lol, why do you think Portable Holes were originally created for!? Wizards had to go in the sanctity, privacy, and safety of their own homes afterall! :p

I think this is something mostly ignored - for the same reason there aren't special magic items to deatl with this sort of stuff - going to the bathroom is what you do when you are in between turns in combat and the DM doesn't need you for a few minutes. It shouldn't be part of the adventure. Just like we don't watch it on TV or in movies (well, most of the time).

What most games I play in have, generally is a "sewer drain" where everyone pours their buckets in cities, spaced around. And inside the sewers which are sealed generally, is (depending on the size of the city and the population) a lot of carrion crawlers. They are notorious for eating basically anything. And most cities pay decently for any of these creatures that are brought to them alive, also, there is a heavy fine for killing any of these creatures unless for some reason you are sent into the sewers on city business of somesort.

Made a spell the planar chamberpot, that wizards use if they have to go but it is inconvenient to go the outhouse.

Can be emptied or everything will fall out of extradimensional space once the spell runs out.

Well, one of our stock excuses for where characters go when their players can't show up, are late or have to leave early is, they had to go take a big long dump. :)

Also, toilets are ideal spots for otyugh, ooze, fungus, and other weird monster placement.

I played Deadlands once and right after we sat down in a saloon the owner made some remark like "what are *you* doin' here?" My character took umbrage at that and lit a stick of dynamite before strolling over to discuss the issue with him. Never made it. Johnny Ringo shot the wick off my stick.
That whole table then got killed by my companions while I was still walking across the room. As we walked out I relit the fuse and tossed it over my shoulder back into the place.

I do so enjoy collateral property damage.
