I never really liked Modrons until Paizo did them up for 3e. I loved that write up and I'd like to see them brought back into the game.

They are a great threat to a high level group. So I like them.

Slaadi rule!! and make the best opponents, as far as I am concerned. Still, Modrons are of great use.

Blah. They're stupid, and don't fit in with sword-n-sorcery.
Maybe their time has passed, but if you knew anything about the Great Wheel cosmology from prior editions of the game, you would not say that. Modrons from Mechanus are every bit as necessary to the D&D creature collection as demons, devils or slaad.Maybe their time has passed, but if you knew anything about the Great Wheel cosmology from prior editions of the game, you would not say that. 1. If Tewligan meant S&S in opposition to high fantasy, I think he is right, especially in that a S&S shouldn't have a balanced cosmology. IMHO S&S needs to avoid the celestial bureaucracy concept. The afterlife in S&S should always be a feared mystery, making living to the next day more important than being moral in hopes of eternal reward.
