Do you like Wayne "WAR" Reynolds?

What do you think of Wayne Reynolds's D&D artwork

He's no Michael Komarck or Todd Lockwood, but he has some pieces I enjoy. His style screams, "made for comic books" to me. I'd rather see him as an interior artist than on the covers.

He's a new favorite of mine. I like his stuff more than the Warhammer-esque stylings of some other pieces in the newer books. Liked WAR's stuff in the Osprey books he's illustrated, as well.

He's now a big favorite of mine, along with Keith Parkinson (RIP), Larry Elmore, and Frank Frazetta, to name a few.

Now, if they could get Angus McBride to do some D&D illustrations (Osprey, MERP)...

I'd put myself squarely in the middle.

There's a ton of his stuff that is great and evokes a wonderful action.

But sometimes the poses just get a little too wild and the proportions TOO exaggerated.

My thoughts exactly.

I think they should use him the same way TLG uses Peter Bradley. As their "Identity". Especially since they used him for the Core 3. IT gives even further/higher "recognition factor" whenever the books are seen if not only the logo's are there, but the art style is recognized as well.

At least I like it that way.
