Do You Plan To Use Essentials In Your Game (No '4.5 Edition Sucks' Plz, Kthx)

My current game just ended, so we won't be using Essentials in it.

I wouldn't mind essentials, even though I don't have an Insider account.
All I need is a cooperative DM or cooperative players. Then anything works.

No current plans on using essentials line material or purchasing the books at this time.

If any players want to use it, I have no problem with that as all 4E material is legal. I'm intrigued by the snippets so far, but I can't say I'm excited about it.

That being said, I'm most likely going to use the essentials monster manual assuming all (or the vast majority) monster stats within are new.

Our goup looks at Essentials like it's a new "Powers" book for the PHB1 so yes

I'll incorporate the Essentials line into my game just as I incorporated Players Handbook 2 and Divine Power.

You betcha. I'll definitely be using stuff from the Monster Vault. Players will also be free to use any content from the books once its in the Character Builder and I'll probably use some of those builds for my own characters.

So far I have allow all new options. So yes I will allow Essentials as well.

Our group allows everything legal, so , yes, we will allow the use of Essentials.

All of the above. I don't currently use any physical monster manuals, I use DDi. So when creatures from MV are placed in DDi I'll be using those as well. It's just new books of options, the question of whether I'll allow it wholecloth seems pointless to me.

I'm on hiatus from running any 4E games right now (I've been more interested in Pathfinder/Warhammer Fantasy RP 3E), but I'm seriously considering getting back into it when Essentials comes out.

Some guys in my group aren't really gearheads, so I'll probably see if they're interested in playing with just the Essentials stuff (though if any players want options from the other books/DDI I certainly won't limit them).

I've been following the Essentials previews closely since I saw the Knight. I DM for a group of players with several first-time D&D'ers, and while we have been playing bi-monthly for about one and a half year now (for those counting, that is 36 sessions), some of them (primarily the fighter and the warden) still often go "I hit this guy" and roll before saying what power they are using. That's not to say their tactics have not improved; they have a rough idea when to start using their dailies, we no longer reach the end of combats where all their encounter-based resources are left unused, nor do they much of anything else which would dramatically influence their character's value... but the whole power system still confuses them, and often upon reaching the next level, they have one of the more experienced players decide their power selection for them. This, of course, does not help them at all in figuring out the most benefical tactical uses for them, which feeds into the "Ehh... I guess I'll Brash Assault/Thorn Strike this guy".

In short: yes, I plan to allow/use Essentials, and I will show the new Knight build to our fighter, and see how he feels about it.

I dislike what I've seen of Essentials so far. I'll allow them in games I run, of course, but I have no interest in them myself.

Fixed for me. I agree 100% with the above.

Currently, I'd say that I have a mildly positive view of Essentials.

I'd be far more interested in running a campaign with Essentials being the core foundation and the occasional pre-Essentials option being allowed than I would be in allowing a few Essentials options into a more pre-Essentials heavy campaign.

Will the way that skills work change with Essentials at all? I've been following Essentials, but not very closely.
