Do you recall a nostalgic D&D picture/illustration?

Late to the party, but I'm quite fond of all the pictures mentioned so far. I think my favorite, though, is the 'Dragonslayers' near the beginning of the 2E book. An obvious hard-won fight, but I'm not sure the dragon is of legal size to keep...

Also, fairly fond of Morgan Ironwolf, but probably not for obvious reasons. Back in the 80's, I only knew of guys that played D&D. The idea of a heroine, who wasn't a damsel in distress ... was cool.

Considering how bloody big 2e dragons got, that really was just a baby. :D But a cool pic nonetheless.

And thanks for the heads up on the that Forgotten Realms pic. That's der bunny.

I think one of the most nostalgic pics for me would be the original Chess board covers from Dragon Magazine 86. That was one of the first magazines I ever bought (I just nicked my brother's copies earlier) and I read and reread that one over and over again.

LOL. I just noticed the year was 2002 -- when I was reading the posts yesterday, the day/dates fit and I somehow parsed 2002 as 2012! jmucchiello nothing like getting a 10-year-old reply, eh?

Wow, I just noticed :)

I'm still out here lurking. Thanks for the replies!
