Do You Run Multiple Campaigns in the Same Setting?

Do you run multiple campaigns in the same campaign world?

I voted did not - but I would run different characters in the same world (sometimes concurrently) and quite often characters would switch groups. More often than not, I would just keep running the same characters for a decade (as a player or GM). I ran some 1st ed characters for my wife that started in '86 and were last played in '05. She's done the same thing for me. :)

In other systems I've played in, or ran 8 to 10 years games, with the same characters.

Hmmm... a complicated question. My main campaign world has been Greyhawk since 1980. There have been dozens of PC groups (and dozens of players) in various plot threads (do you consider a plot thread a "campaign"), however its all been within the same continuous timeline, where different PC groups could theoretically meet, and certainly heard about eachother's exploits (does that make it all the same "campaign"?). As well, some of those Greyhawk-based groups have explored the wider multiverse, using Underdark, Spelljammer, and Planescape "sub-campaign" materials.
