I can't remember - I got it from gog.com, and they ahd a opage telling me to do a couple of things. Update drivers, obviously; and some kind of special (little) windows compatibility update whose name escapes me but was available from Microsoft's site.

This was on Windows 7. Didn't work before, but worked perfectly after following the instructions.

I just wish I could remember what they were!

It's beauty is the toolset and multiplayer. We used to have an EN World server, and it was a blast. Great fun!

I have it and all the expansions, and I am actually in the process of installing it on my new computer as I type this. An Alienware Aurora (I know, I know, Alienware sucks and all that, but I've just always wanted one.)

I got my copy of Diablo III and installed it yesterday, and decided I wanted to install all my favorite old games as well, so I got out Diablo II and The Temple of Elemental Evil, MechWarrior 3, Dungeon Siege, Homeworld I and II, Age of Mythology, Neverwinter Nights... even good old X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and EverQuest (!) and I'm throwing them all on there (a terabyte HDD gives ya lots of room! ToEE is especially awesome with all the patches and updates that the Circle of Eight online group have added, and if anyone hasn't p0lyedit since it first came out, I would HIGHLY recommend reinstalling it and looking at CO8.org and downloading everything the have for it.

I guess I just got hit with some videogame nostalgia.

Temple of Elemental Evil was actually damn good, once CO8 patched!

XCOM... Can't wait for new one.
MechCommander2 is still a fave.
Bit off the type but the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are awesome: invisible frikkin bloodsucking mindflayers, I mean that's like the proverbial "belt fed grenade launcher" as in "totally over the top evilness"! The STALKER games really are scary!! (get the "complete" mods for them though)

new Neverwinter Nights looks dreadful, unless things change *sigh*.
NWN2 was awesome, pity more adventures weren't made using the trading/random encounters etc system of "Storm of Zehir"

I'd love to hear it if you get Mechwarrior 3 running stably on a modern PC. I haven't been able to play that in years because it crashes regularly. One of my favorites, though.
