Do you trust your DM?

If something weird/odd/”not right” happens in the game, do you trust that there is a legitimate/legal/honest in-game reason for it?

Or if something weird happens in the game, do you assume the DM fudged?

Unfortunatly no, on the rare occasions that I am a player. The only other guy who is willing to DM around here doesn't really know much of the rules and railroads players through his story. We all know he fudges a lot of the time but no one really seems to mind. I'd rather he knew the rules, but he's all I've got when it comes to being a player at this point so I tolerate it.

I trust we'll have a playable game and a fun time even when our PC's are getting turned to paste. Beyond that, who cares? :)

In my group I am normally the DM, but I don't think I would play with someone I didn't trust at all. As is i said "Yes, mostly" only because the other DM, who is better all the time, does forget things on occasion, or tries to make plots overly complicated and they get away from her. However, that really wasn't true the last time she ran a game, so maybe I should have answered an unconditional "yes".

Difficult question, seeing as how I have 3 DMs. ;)

I answered for my favorite DM (which was a 'yes, mostly') as he tends to plan out the plot and encounter ahead of time, and have reams of notes.

For one of my other DMs, it would probably be the same, simply because we are using a ruleset I am mostly unfamiliar with and a homebrew world I am pretty much completely unfamiliar with, thus making trust mandatory. He seems pretty consistant though.

For the last DM... it would be a 'no, mostly'. He tends to let the game get away from him, mostly because of enthusiasm and/or simply not being as familiar with the rules as he should be to run a game (in my opinion). So I question.
