OK, the Psi Handbook is a good first step, but you now need to go to the WoC website, the Mind's Eye here and get all the free additions.

Next, try RPGCosmos for a bunch of feats, powers and Prestige classes.

The Eye, currently under re-manifestation, but here's the link.

The Burnt World of Athas for a huge number of powers.

And THe Illithid Empire for everything you never wanted to know about Mind Flayers.

One big problem with Psionics is Psionic Combat, Here's Timewaster's version.

After you have digested all of that, then buy If Thought's Could KIll, The Quintessential Psychic Warrior(Eventually it will be out), and the Quintessential Psion in January or Febuary, and Mindscapes in Febuary and March.

And after you have figured all of that out, come over to the WoC Psi Boards and explain it all to us :D

no psionics in my champaign...

partly cos they were originally so completely overpowered, and even if there was a 98% chance you wouldn't have them for your PC, we all fudged the roles back then :D

but they don't fit with my vision of fantasy... so i don't have them.

that being said i liked the idea in the OA web enhancement of having yogis...

Yeah, we use the PsiHB. It seems to have worked well enough. It hasn't really caused any campaign world issues, the "common man" views psions pretty much the same as wizards or sorcerers.

I voted no... but I'd like to use psionics. The problem is my players aren't as open-minded, and it's hard to integrate psionics in non-psionic worlds...

For Urbis, I use the following guidelines:

"Psions and Psychic warriors

Psychic powers do not occur naturally among the player character races of Urbis. But this does not mean that they don’t occur at all. Instead, all such displays of the powers of the mind can be traced to outside influences. Whether this means that the psychic has yuan-ti blood running in his veins, or that mind flayers experimented on him or his ancestors depends on the individual in question. But there is always some unnatural origin to the powers he commands. While most people are unaware that psychics even exist, and tend to confuse them with sorcerers or monks if they do encounter them, the learned can recognize them for what they are. And given the near-universal loathing with which civilized people hold beings such as the yuan-ti, illithids, and derro, psychics can expect a strongly hostile reaction if their powers are identified correctly.

If the DM permits it, players can take psions or psychic warriors as characters. However, players should be aware that psychic powers are mostly in the command of loathsome monsters, and that psychic characters will be identified with those."

This makes psionics a bit more than "just another set of cool powers"... ;)

I've got a theory that despite the 19/11 split in favour of psionics, in truth people who don't use psionics don't look at this thread and so don't vote...

I don't use psionics and I read this thread.

I just didn't really care for the new system.

Not only do we not currently use psionics I have never played a single game of D&D (any edition) where psionics have been used. Don't ask me why is not that anyone particularly hates psionics its just that no one has seen the point of them in the D&D world. One type of magic is enough.

I've used psionics in other game systems, but only stuff like Conspiracy X and Mega Traveller.

Currently we have no psionics in our two campaigns. In one a player had a psion, but he stopped coming. I do not really care for psionics, but as long as they are another form of magic I can stomach it. Still, I am not about to let anyone, psion or spellcaster, dominate the campaign (2E was very bad in this aspect, with control body running rampant).

question: i'm someone who (like quite a few, it seems) doesn't like mixing psionics and fantasy, and so i've never picked up the PsiHB. but now i'm really getting into d20 Mod and i'm wondering how well the PsiHB would mesh with it? i know 3e and d20 Mod are essentially the same system, but there are a few differences...
