I like the idea of psionics, but have yet to extensively use them. I'm currently building a world where the'll be more intergral and have spend a good deal of time working on some alternate rules...

PsiHB: I really liked the book, but I think it needed a bit more playtesteing and a few more chapters. More variant rules in the book (that eventually found their way all over the place) would have been very nice, a chapter on adapting them to your campaign and variant rules was called for, IMHO. (even if it was only as long as the appendix of The Manual of the Planes that lists variant planes and cosmolgies it would have been sufficent).

No, because in third edition it is way too much like magic, and way to weak to be used in our campaigns.

It has too much of a sci-fi feel for fantasy and I think if it is to be included it should remain limited.

Too fantasy and weak/too scifi and unlimted:
And people wonder why the psionic rules never seem to please anyone.

I like psionics. A lot. I'm currently using psionics in my Scarred Lands campaign (though I don't think the players have realized it yet)-in fact they're crucial to the storyline.
I don't understand the argument that they don't fit in a fantasy campaign. We've seen several examples of them fitting very well-Darksun, that "Elvenbane" series (I forgot who wrote it), Shadowforce Archer (ok, altered, but it's still psionics in principle), Scarred Lands (shameless plug), and others.
I really like the improvements made in ITCK and I was glad I was allowed to incorporate them into Relics & Rituals 2. If anybody is interested in psionics, check out the Of Sound Mind portion of the WoTC website-I've taken like 60 pages of PrCs, powers, monsters, etc. from that site-all very good. Malhavoc is also putting out a few psionic supplements later this year-that should be interesting, they do good work.
I'm hoping I can convince the SL developer to let me do more psionics stuff in connection with the Slarecians (that's SLARE-see-ans) in the future. (You reading this Joseph?:D )

I like psionics and usually integrate them into my world.

However, whether or not I actually use psionic characters or not really depends on the PCs inclinations. IF there are PC psions then I typically utilize the psionic resources in my world. If there aren't then I usually let them languish. In that respect they are similar to most non-psionic organizations and areas of concern....

OK, I've seen this abbreviation a couple of times, and I'm not familiar with it...could someone define ITCK for me?

Thanks much.

If Thoughts Could Kill.

Its the Psionic supplement produced by Malhavoc Press and written by Bruce Cordell, author of the psionic handbook.
