No, because Campbell was a reductionist crackpot who, like Eliade (another reductionist crackpot), modified things to his own whims in order to make them fit his universal schema.
I've nothing against your opinion, Tet, but it doesn't tell me much besides what you think. Do you have any specific reference to make (if possible, with the title and chapter/page) ? I'd like to know where you got that opinion from.
I occasionally use elements from Campbell, eg in a solo PBEM I'm currently running, it's very Hero's Journey. I rarely if ever use it consciously in tabletop play, although many of my own favourite PCs seem to fit The Hero mold - and Fighter is my favourite class.
