Do your characters have phobias?

A long running character in my campaign is afraid of heights, snakes, and is also a deep sleeper. That last one has caused trouble several times. All of these stem from the old Skills and Powers ruleset back in the day.

He's the only mage I've ever seen who refused to learn any "Fly" type spells. Not even to cast on others. I'm glad to say he's kept up with those through 3e to 3.5. He gets lots of XP for them.

None of my characters like the water, as they don't know how to swim with skill scores averaging 0. They float like a brick tied to a duck.

Ah yes. my Bard/Paladin has a rather nasty fear of cats (especially housecats). After being dropped to zero, getting the full effect from a CLW Potion, then dropped to zero again without being able to attack the little varmits (the Housecats vs Commoners thread from a couple of weeks ago spoke of how the little creatures came close to tpking out 2nd level party). Now the GM just has to mention cats, to freak my character out.

Back in 2e I had a Wild Mage that was afraid of the dark. In the second adventure, "she" (affects of another wild surge) wild surged to turn into the same race as the closest being (which was a Goblin. I remember the party having fun with her, carrying her into and out of the cave. "Aaah! It's Dark! Aaah! It's Light! Aaah! It's Dark! Aaah! It's Light!"

My girlfriend had a 2e Cleric of Horus that was terrified of Brownies.

One of the PCs in my game has a fear of acid after a few unpleasant experiences. The first one was being struck by Seething Eyebane ( from the BoVD) and having his eyes popped in a spray of acid. Then a few sessions later he was nearly pummeled to death by a fiendish Ooze elemental. Now any time someone mentions acid he just sort of curls up into a ball and sobs quietly.
