Do your characters swear?

I mean, often what is considered swearing in one culture might not have the same connotation in another. For example, I recall how one British gentlemen reacted to how quaint we considered "bloody."

One of my players is a military brat. He spent some time in the UK when his Dad was stationed there, about 3 years I think. His last name is Pratt. I once asked him if it was tough growing up in England with a last name like that. He gave me a glare that basically said, "My hate of mi dM no no limit."

And yes, my players swear like sailors, but I don't recall them swearing in character.

but i will swear in French

I'd be really curious to hear how you swear in French :)

As for me, if I swear in character (I swear a lot in RL), I'll try to think of "in character" swears, but I usually play characters that are way more polite than I am in RL...

Little bit of both in- and out-of-character, but rarely to excess. Plus my players always feel guilty when they swear in front of my kid, even though I'm the worst offender there by far.

Our PCs don't swear more than us.

As you can probably guess, that's not very informative. :p

Some characters swear, some don't.

I have some players who swear. We do a little bit of phoney swearing -- the "Tymora's teats!" kinda thing, but not much.

Us too. Take a god, take a body part - you've got a phoney swear that gets a laugh here and there. :)

We try not to swear too messily, because one of the gamers we play with is pre-teen.

don't piss me off... my ancestors ate Magellan.

"YOU ATE MAGELLAN?!?!"

"Like a melon."

"What about him?"

"Him? He's SO not 'gellan."
