Does a (Greater)Magic Weapon on Arrow AND Bow STACK?

That means that a masterwork bow and a masterwork arrow doesn't stack either.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, they do. See DMG page 183.

"Masterwork ranged weapon bounses to attack and masterwork ammunition attack bonuses stack with each other (but not with enhancement bonuses)."

I my turn to say ... Oops.

That right, change all instances where I wrote 'items' to 'tools'.

The rule I was refering was the rule about bonuses from masterwork tools do not stack.

But the bonus for masterwork are an enhancement bonus, not an unnamed bonus. Because of that enhancement bonuses from magic do not stack with masterwork bonuses.

No.

I beg (and dare) you to give me a reference that says so...

well, you´r right; masterwork is an unnamed bonus. I´ve not found anything saying explicitely that masterwork bonus is an enhancement bonus. But see PHB page 114, last sentence: "a masterwork bonus to attack does not stack with an enhancement bonus to attack" or last D&D FAQ, page 21 "Masterwork and enhancemento bonuses to attack don´t stack because they´re the same type of bonus..."

And a few places in the DMG, as well.

Don't feel bad, even Caliban couldn't do it, when I dared him!

The reason why it is not a natural enhancement bonus like that of adamantine weapons is that it would then count for overcoming Damage Reduction.

So what this boils down to is that a MW arrow fired by a Bow +1 does end up as a total of +2 to the attack roll, right?

(that's the way it makes sense, but that doesn't necessarily make it right of course...)

Rav

How about someone using a non enchanted bow, a +1 magical arrow, and wearing bracers of archery +2??

is it +3 to his, +1 to damage, or +2 to hit, +1 to damage? (Does the bracers cancel out the magic arrow?)

WRONG. They do not stack.

A masterwork bonus from a bow stack with a masterwork bonus from an arrow. (DMG, page 183).

AND

An enhancement bonus from a bow stack with an enhancement bonus from an arrow. (DMG, page 183).

BUT

A masterwork bonus to attack does not stack with an enhancement bonus to attack. (PHB, page 114).

However that means you use the BOWS enhancement bonus which means that it will grant a +1 to both attack AND damage.

Bracers of Archery grants a competence bonus, and stacks with all differently named bonuses.

.

No. It means that an enhancement bonus applied to a masterwork item does not stack with the masterwork bonus. Dont read more into what it says, than what it says.

Nowhere does it state that the enhancement bonus from a bow does/does not stack with the masterwork bonus from an arrow. Or vice-versa.

Besides even is it doesnt, You're still wrong. It would be +2 to-hit because the underlying masterwork bonuses of the bow/arrow do stack :p

I have thought about that but since the books doesn't say so and I haven't seen errata on it, I'll still say the same thing.

They don't stack.

And although that screws over people using masterwork arrow with magical bow, I say, just use normal arrows.
