Does anybody use Red Wizard PRC outside FR?

The Red Wizards work well for any society where mages are strongly focused on different types of enchantments. There are, of course, other paths for mages in a campaign. (Some players prefer generalists. Sometimes it is best to have a variety of spells to throw at one's opponents.)

As for political power, I hope that the upcoming FR Player's Guide will have some more information on two other lands where mages are ascendant: Nimbral and Halruaa. (A reasonable modification for a character coming from a land where mages rule or at least advise is to allow diplomacy as a class skill.)

Welcome back, Melkor!

Welcome back, Melkor!

Greetings, Paragon of Goodness, and greetings to the rest of this splendid company! It always seemed to me that magogracy and theocracy would be a natural governing systems in world of Dungeons and Dragons, not feudalism. My new FR character, a LE Halruan cleric/wizard(future Mystic Theurge)
of Azuth from the Loomwardens faction also shares this opinion.

By the way, what happened with 4th IR that Edena started few months ago? I took part, controlling a Tiamat worshipping Empire started in Chessenta and Unther, despite the fact that I don`t have much time to enter Internet those difficult times. Is it definately over?

Yeah, Gods make the best Emperors :D

Definately over. I've been corresponding with Edena over E-mail during the summer. He clearly stated that the IR was over and that he wasn't planning on ever starting another. He said something about a baseball IR , I can't even imagine what that would be like.

Difficult times, Melkor? I hope things get better. Remember, "The strong shall vanquish the weak but the weak can rise again trough ruthless determination. Only the most brutal opression or the most cunning manipulation can ever succeed in keeping a strong man down. Build your power in hidden places, lull your opponent into thinking you broken and harmless, then strike when his back is turned or his power is divided. Strike, strike him down, and break him so that he can never oppose you again. But never turn your back on him..."

Seriously, be well. :)

As a FR purist, I refuse to use any of the FR PrCs outside the campaign setting if I am DM'ing. For some reason it just seems wrong to use a Red Wizard in Dragonlance or somewhere else :P
