Does bull's Str stack with Belt of Str?

IMC? You'd still have them even when the Periapt was stolen. If you didn't catch the thief until day 2 you wouldn't have them that day, however. But on Day 3, after sleeping with you precious, you'd get them back.

That would be my ruling as well. The rules don't require you to specify which spells are your bonus spells, so loosing them would be impracticle.

Or course, if your wisdom dropped far enough (below 10+spell lvl) they some spells might become unavailable for other reasons.

In 2nd edition those two items only stacked when using the hammer of thunderbolts. They did not stack any other time. It was a property of the hammer, not the girdle or gauntlets.
i disagree
lets hope this quoting of the 2nd Ed DMG is small enough to fall under 'fair use' rights.
AD&D 2nd Ed DMG said:
*In the Girdle of Giant Strength description*
The Strength gained is not cumulative with normal or magical Strength bonuses except in combination with gauntlets of ogre power and magical warhammers.
i miss how much these items could boost your strength :(

From reading that text, it still seems clear to me (given my pre-existing knowledge of how the Hammer of Thunderbolts works) that they don't stack except when wielding the Hammer.

They still* stack if you are using the hammer of thunderbolts, IIRC, which is all they ever did.

Hey, you're right, I misread that. (Stack with this hammer in all editions, 1, 2, 3.0, 3.5).

"the Hammer"? or a hammer?
the girdles description doesnt mention the Hammer of Thunderbolts at all.
You read it as needing all three: the girdle, the gauntlets, and a magic warhammer?

the gauntlets description says that the gauntlets are especially good when combined with a girdle of giant strength (not a girdle and a magic warhammer)

really, in 3.5, the gauntlets should be called gauntlets of half-orc strength, since ogres are a lot stronger than +2
