no the idea that they'd chase white whales (GM's) instead of everyone.the possibility of a repeat of the Complete X? Good, that was not a good idea anyway

maybe, but I still expect you to only get what is being released while you are subscribed, not the entire catalogue, like you eg would on a streaming service.Im guessing tier subscription starting with free and working its way up (its how our society is now). Like Paizo, there will be a core rule sub, a setting sub, etc..
then you have not been paying attention over the last, say, five yearsI actually have very little sign it does. It expanded dramatically early on because it turned out there was more potential market than was thought, but nothing I've seen suggests that expansion has continued unabated.
no one said they are, what is a loser is having too many of themThat crunch books are a loser.
Oh no, I dont think it will be like that at all. Im guessing you can limp along on a free tier buying premium stuff as you want. Or, you can premium sub to get everything. Likely a mix of VTT stuff with custom tokens and skins along with adventure material for GMs. Stop the sub keep what you have but no further additions. Likley set up so you cant just sub up once a year and get everything and then get out.maybe, but ai still expect you to only get what is being released while you are subscribed, not the entire catalogue, like you eg would on a streaming service.
Im guessing they will be made to compliment each other. If they dont, that would be a huge failing. Will have to see what the VTT looks like however, I would not expected something like that on DDB at least
we are 10 years in by now, where do you draw the line between the initial phase and the tail end? Sounds like you want to claim all 10 years for the initial phaseThat's been what what limited information one can get from the outside looks like to me too. I think people confuse the fact it tapped a piece of market that was not touched at that time and allowed it to initially grow faster than anything since OD&D/AD&D as somehow meaning there's a bunch of still untapped market that is not shown to be true in any notable way.
the last part is why I doubt they will do it. At most you have access to everything while subscribed, but lose access to everything that wasn’t released while you were subscribed when you unsubscribe.Oh no, I dont think it will be like that at all. That tends to line up with my experiences too. Players tend to buy accessories like dice, dice trays, miniatures. I think the DDB and VTT will be able to hit this market digitally. In my experience from 4e to PF1e and now to 5e players are less likely to buy anything compared to the DM. This amplifies if you're a forever DM. I've only ever seen one player buy a PHB. This is anecdotal of course. I'm sure there's gaming groups with players more tapped in compared to the casual player.
So selling the same stuff to the same people?yes they are, compatible or not, this is a replacement for the PHB from 2014
Actual hard setting books?they haven’t really done many settings books, FR has plenty of room to explore, Dragonlance had one adventure with a bit of setting tacked on.
They can certainly publish many more adventures in the FR, or really any other setting
So adventure books not setting books., I am counting on them hitting the settings again, no reason to only have one adventure in Dragonlance, Eberron, or Ravenloft, etc
