Does D&D have a Brand Manager?

Never mind the Senior Brand Manager, how often do you see anyone from WOTC over here? Used to see faces poke up from time to time, but, wow, I almost never see any anymore. Same goes for pretty much any game designer for that matter. Once upon a time, you couldn't swing a dead cat in here without hitting someone with their name on a big name book. Now, you're lucky to catch fleeting glimpses.

That makes me a bit of a sad panda.

I was going to mention that I see big name game writer and designers posting all the time. They all seem to work for Paizo too. But Steel Wind already made that point so I won't.

Hey guys. So it has been a while since I've posted here, but I'm sorry if people feel like ENworld is "not on the radar" here at Wizards. As people have mentioned, things have changed a bit around the office and I suppose there's some bits that haven't been described super well. Back in the day, the Rouse was often over here answering questions about where D&D was going, what the next steps were and why we did something the way we did. Scott was basically doing a CM job and a Brand Manager job all in one. We've split that back up - Laura and the team are in charge or running the brand, and I'm in charge of talking about it with people. So though I'm pretty sure I did this before - Hi, I'm Trevor, the guy who talks about D&D.

I have been somewhat silent over here lately and I'm sorry for that. I've been pretty busy with keeping content going up on the D&D Group Page, Twitter and Facebook. I always make time to read over what's going on here, but you guys generally cover all the bases so when I do feel the need to say something, it's often along the lines of "Yeah, what he said!" I'll make sure to change that habit and at least let you know my thoughts/brand thoughts on things when possible.

Though I'm here a lot and also have a team of ninja-pirates working for me who constantly keep me updated on all kinds of goings ons, if you don't see me here and you want to ping me to see if you can get an answer or more insight into something going on in a thread, shoot me an email at trevor.kidd@wizards.com and I'll drop into the conversation as long as you point me in the right direction.

All that said - any immediate questions, concerns, doubts, or tests of D&D validity that you guys want me to know about?

Hey Trevor! Great to see your posting here. Hmm, and if you ask for our "wishes"... Seriously, we need templates and themes in the monster builder. I expect we´ll see themes in Charbuilder after Dark Sun, but having these awesome themes in DMG2 and not being able to apply them to monsters with ease is sad.

Yeah, I'm with everybody on this one - I'd love to have those templates in the MB so I can flavor my monsters. We are working on some things that are taking up a lot of our time, which is one of the reasons you haven't seen updates like this - but that's all hush hush for now. More info coming as soon as I can bring it.

But when it comes to Paizo? They post here - all the time. My guess is that if I posted a thread in the Pathfinder section of ENWorld mentioning Erik Mona's or Lisa Stevens' name in the thread topic (or not, for that matter) I'd probably get a reply in 48 hours or less.

Although Erik IS galavanting over on the East Coast all week on vacation, so I guess he has an excuse until Friday...

Trevor, thank you very much for stopping by and clarifying who you are and how everything is working now.

(I almost wonder if you should use the XP/Comments feature to say "Yeah, what he said!" when appropriate).

A couple of topics I wouldn't mind hearing more about are New Player Acquisition and D&D Encounters. Preferably not just "this is what we're doing", but laying out a few of the issues that need to be taken into account.

I know the topics are related - D&D Enc is partly to help acquire the casual/new players.
