Does Expeditious Retreat stack with Fly/Gaseous Form/Haste movement speeds?

There are very few creatures with a "climb speed" that I know of. Even spiders use the climb skill. The Arena in the MM is the only example I can think of that actually has a true "climb speed".

I don't know of any spells off hand that bestow a climb speed either. In this case - I therefore think the GM was right.

This is not true of swimmers (ie Kraken, merfolk) just to name a few.

The Spider Climb spell allows a character to climb at half their speed. PHB 255.

The Climb skill allows you to advance at ½ your speed as a miscellaneous full-round action, or ¼ your speed as a miscellaneous move-equivalent action.

If you take a -5 penalty to your check, you can move at twice this speed. See Accelerated Climbing under the skill for more details. PHB 65.

I think that Expedious Retreat should affect both of these, since they are based on your normal speed.
