Well then I have a bone to pick with the SRD. Cause I have a slew of steak knives in my kitchen that keep rusting on me....and my dishwasher isn't magical at all. Never buy steak knives from Target....stainless steel? From what, food only?!?Deset Gled said:Rust only comes from magical sources.
Riiight. A mysterious box that cleans dishes without a scullery maid? Not magical? You should recalibrate your Detect Magic my friend...Oryan77 said:and my dishwasher isn't magical at all.

Actually, Wotc stated in the core books that characters were assumed to be doing routine maintenance on their property to prevent things from rusting.Dross said:This seems to be one of those things that WotC left out becauses it is a "boring realism" that many people would not bother to use, similar to weapons and armour not getting damaged, nicked etc without being specifically targeted (or a 1 on a save).
WotC has obviously never raised teenage boys...frankthedm said:Actually, Wotc stated in the core books that characters were assumed to be doing routine maintenance on their property to prevent things from rusting.

Well I only ask because the players will be doing an underwater adventure in the El. Plane of Water and I can't think of any reason a guy in full plate won't wear his armor underwater. Yet, no aquatic creatures wear full plate armor; Stormwrack mentions that metal armor doesn't fare well underwater but it doesn't describe how it fairs.frankthedm said:Actually, Wotc stated in the core books that characters were assumed to be doing routine maintenance on their property to prevent things from rusting.
Yeah, I lump in caring for your weapons and such as part of the non optional training characters are expected to do to prevent XP loss 3.0 PHB p.146.Dross said:Hhhmmm, then I failed my read skill![]()
Then it comes on a par with the "training" before levelling up (but still fits the "boring realism") that is usually glossed over.
